A Snowy Day in January {1.7.12}

We knew the "spring time" winter would inevitably come to an end and the snow would come. And come it did. Lucky for us Kaylee loves the snow and loves "to help" shovel. Unfortunately Allie and Brennen were sick so they stayed inside and watched. Allie was incredibly jealous but thought Kaylee and I were so funny when we threw snowballs at her/window.

A Sunny Day in January {1.3.12}

We have LOVED this "spring time" winter and try to take advantage of the "warm" sunny days.

Kaylee is getting pretty good at pedaling her tricycle and even braves "going fast on the hill." She prefers her scooter over the trike though. Rian and her had such a fun time and were so mad at me when I told them we had to come inside because the sun was beginning to set!

Allie loves being outside and wants so badly to keep up with the older girls.

Allie's FIRST Birthday {1.6.12}

My little baby girl turned one! I can't believed I have enjoyed every single month of one year with her already. She's my little sweet string bean. She's content with basically anything, gives the sweetest smiles, and loves to give kisses. She loves to snuggle and she makes our family of 4 pretty perfect. We love our "Allie Goose" as Kaylee likes to call her.

Her birthday parties were fun and, unlike Kaylee at her first birthday, she enjoyed the attention, though I'm not quite sure she knew the attention was all hers. On her actual birthday it was a pretty low-key day. We started out with birthday breakfast on the "special red plate."

The girls played really well together. They played "Animal Store" (basically getting all of Kaylee's stuffed animals out) in Kaylee's room.

And they loved climbing in and out of laundry baskets.

We baked the birthday girl's cake--yellow cake with vanilla frosting.

That night we celebrated with my family that lives in town. Nothing spectacular--just cake and presents.

Santa Visit {12.5.11}

We decided that one Santa visit wasn't quite enough so we went on a Monday night to remind him what was on Kaylee's list--a Simba and a big Clifford. Kaylee did great. Allie not so much. She isn't a big fan of the man in red. Maybe next year?

Christmas Dresses {12.25.11}

Nana loves to spoil my girls with adorable things. One of my favorite things I look forward to are Christmas dresses. She found super cute matching ones for the girls and I was anxious to get pictures of them together. But we ran out of time before church, Allie fell asleep on the way home, and by the time Allie woke up Kaylee had taken hers off so...solo shots we got.

Christmas Day {12.25.11}

Santa found his way to our house and left us some really fun things! We slept in until about 8:00am when Kaylee woke us up. She was wanting breakfast until I reminded her that Santa came last night. Then she was both excited and nervous. She walked out into the front room so slowly as if she didn't know what to do. When she saw Allie crawl to her toys and start playing Kaylee ran to hers and was all smiles.

We opened everything up then went to Nana and Papa's for a quick but yummy breakfast before we went to church with them too. After church we went to my parent's house for lunch and gifts. Kaylee was ecstatic she got to open even more presents and Allie was happy to have more paper to tear apart.

This year for my parents all the siblings went in on tickets to the Tuacahn shows for 2012, Aladdin and Hairspray. To make the gift giving a little more exciting I made up a scavenger hunt to find pieces to a puzzle that then gave them clues to their gift. I think they enjoyed it and were super excited for them. They don't go until October however.

It was a fairly low key day as Brennen wasn't feeling well so we just relaxed at our house for the rest of the day. It was fun having our own personal family time. I actually enjoyed having Christmas on Sunday. It was nice going to church and feeling the spirit and remembering our Savior's birth. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Jammies {11.26.11}

Our elf, Freddie, brought Kaylee and Allie some Christmas jammies to get into the Christmas spirit. The girls were THRILLED. Kaylee loved wearing her "Christmas cookies." Allie, well, she just wanted the ornaments on the tree.

Sometimes we get a little crazy with our camera and just click away. It was one of those fun afternoons where we as a family just hung out. It started out with, "Guess Those Eyes"

And we finished with jumping off the couch. (Kaylee was and still is completely terrified to do this herself. I'm not sure why--the height, the fear of falling, or what? So we practice facing our fears at our house. Ha ha ha.)

Happy Birthday B-Rizzle! {12.21.11}

Brennen turned the big 2-8 this year! I decided that this year we definitely feel old. Ha ha ha...I mean we are almost 30! /gasp But I digress. We celebrated Brennen's big day THREE times. Once on Sunday with a big Fuller birthday bash. Complete with a donut cake.

Then on Tuesday we had my family over for some Cafe Rio, cake and ice cream. We finished the evening up with a mean game of bowling. And then we topped it off on Wednesday (his actual birthday) at the BEHS basketball game. Phew! We were partied out but had a lot of fun.

David Archuleta Concert {12.19.11}

It was a sold out crowd!

We (Cami, Brian, Brennen, and I) went to the David Archuleta concert, "My Kind of Christmas" at Abravenal Hall in Salt Lake. It. Was. AMAZING! I loved every minute. We weren't sure what to expect. We didn't know if he would only sing Christmas music. Or if it would be a low-key thing as the concert was at Abravenal Hall. Or if it would be longer than an hour. We had no idea but we were all pleasantly surprised. Sure, we were there with a lot of screaming girls but Cami and I gave a scream or two as well so...whatev! He did sing a lot of Christmas music but in the middle of his concert he sang some new songs as well as tracks from his previous albums. It was a lot of fun seeing him groove on the stage and just be his quirky yet endearing self. His biggest surprise came during the encore when he made a special announcement--he's serving a full-time mission! The audience erupted with screaming and applause and of course a standing O. Only in Utah...but I loved it. It brought him to tears and it was really sweet to be there and witness the whole thing. I smile thinking about it. :) He's so talented and so good live. I would LOVE to see him in concert again. The concert was 2.5 hours long but it felt like an hour. I hope to see him again...after his mission of course. I just can't say enough about how much fun I had. Loved it and love me some Archuleta!

I was so wrapped up in Archuleta fever that I did things a bit out of order and forgot to mention all the pre-concert fun we had with the Jacoways. We started the evening off at the Training Table for yummy burgers. Then we hopped in the car and drove down the road to Nielsen's Frozen Custard. Umm...delicious! I've NEVER been and I can't believe I've been missing out on it's awesomeness. Who knew custard was so silky smooth? Then we headed off to the concert which, as mentioned previously, was AMAZING!

/sigh It was one of those perfect days.

Thanksgiving 2011 {11.24.11}

Bright and early that morning, 7:00am, my brother and I played basketball for a couple of hours with some of my friends. It was a lot of fun and nice to get some good exercise in before a wonderful feast later that day. When I got home Brennen went and played flag football with some buddies. Afterwards we headed to JeuneElle's house for our annual Thanksgiving scavenger hunt. This year JeuneElle mixed it up a bit and it was a photo scavenger hunt. We had to find the clues in order, each clue had to be at least 100 yards away from the previous clue, and each participant had to be in at least one clue. My team was Cooper and Tyler (Brennen was home with a post flag football migraine) and we totally rocked our clues out.

From the scavenger hunt we rushed home, quite literally as I squealed the tires around the corner--I had yam balls to bake, cleaned up and went to my parents' house for lunch. As usual it was delicious and the house was filled with family. Perfect in every sense of the way. Suzanne brought costumes and the first Thanksgiving story for the kids to reenact. It was super cute and Kaylee LOVED dressing up, despite the picture below.

No Sled . . . No Problem! {11.12.11}

We definitely took advantage of the first snowstorm this year. I was watching my niece Rian as well as my friend's little girl Ellie for a couple hours on Saturday. We built mini snowmen but the best part was sledding. Across the street from our house is a tiny hill that I thought it would be perfect for the girls to sled on. Unfortunately we didn't have a sled but who needs a sled when you have a cookie sheet laying around, right?! It was perfect and the girls had a blast. Even Allie enjoyed it until she hit a slight bump on the hill and face planted into the snow. A little whitewash never hurt anyone right?

I doubt anyone else on earth could pull off this AMAZING snow outfit. ;)

Disney on Ice {11.11.11}

I love all things Disney so when my sister Cami found a great deal on Disney on Ice tickets I couldn't pass up the opportunity. We went to the Friday afternoon show and had such a great time. Kaylee was a little nervous at first. I think mainly because she was tired but once Mickey and friends came out she warmed up to it and started smiling. When Lion King came out she was all smiles, clapping, and cheering. She loved it and still talks about it.

The Jacoways! Rian was a hoot the entire show. She always brings the excitement level up.

We had family pictures with the whole Fuller family up in Mantua. It was gorgeous and I love the way the blues, browns, and the golden yellow from the grass turned out.

Allie may not be looking but Kaylee's totally smiling!

This picture was the last of the day, if you couldn't tell from all the screaming babies. It was so hilarious. Every kid whether laughing or screaming tells a story. Such a great moment.

A few weeks later Jodi took some pictures of just my girls, because she's awesome and it was included in the original price. Hello! Such an incredible deal. And she did such an amazing job, I mean look at my little doll faces. Oh and if you'd be so kind to vote for your favorite for both Kaylee and Allie I'd really appreciate it. Aren't they adorable?! I look at them multiple times a day. The girls were great. Allie did pretty good for wanting to look at everything around her and Kaylee did super great. I was a little nervous for how she would do but I'm happy to report she was all smiles. (I may or may not have bribed Kaylee with the promise of a toy after pictures if she smiled and didn't cry. She picked Nala from Lion King. Hey, whatever works.)

We raked my parents leaves into a big pile and let the girls have some fun and they did. Kaylee loved it and was all giggles and Allie enjoyed eating the leaves and even having leaves thrown on her. It was one of those perfect moments in life when all is well.

I may not be a huge fan of Halloween but I'm a total fan of trunk-or-treats. I know a lot of people don't like them but I totally do. We joined the Sutton's trunk-or-treat and filled Kaylee's bag even more.

Had our delicious traditional Halloween dinner with the Jacoways. Visited my Grandma and Grandpa Sherratt and Aunt Sherri before partying the night away, well until 8 that is, at the Jeffries. Came home, put the girls to bed, as well as ourselves. Phew!

Carnivals {10.28 & 29.11}

I'm not much of a Halloween fan. I'm not sure why but it's definitely not my favorite holiday, or in my top 5 really, but I do try to make it exciting and fun for Kaylee. I don't want to spoil her outlook on the holiday and I hope by trying to make it exciting for her I'll start to like the holiday more. Anyway, we celebrated Halloween to the fullest this year!

It started off with Kaylee's library class. She adores her library class. She loves everything about it--the stories, the songs, the crafts. I wish it was twice a week. For the last day of our 6-week class the teacher, Ms. Shoeman, told the kids to wear their costumes. Kaylee was super excited to wear her "scary tiger" costume and to see Rian's cute pumpkin costume.

Friday we supported my Alma Mater--Discovery Elementary's Halloween Carnival.

The PTA and volunteers did such a great job with the different games. We all had a blast. I think Kaylee's favorite was the hayride and fishing.

We weren't allowed to wear masks at this carnival so we had to improvise with some face paint. I'm actually surprised that Kaylee let me do it, course she got to paint on my face first, but she let me do it.

Saturday we got dressed up again in our costumes and headed out the the Halloween Carnival by the Boys and Girls Club. Kaylee's black pants were dirty so she had gray tiger legs and I left Allie in her monkey jammies and called it good.

We had fun walking around to the different stations, practicing how to nicely say "trick-or-treat" and playing the fun games. Kaylee loved this frisbee one.

Conference Weekend & a Birthday Party {10.2.11}

General Conference weekend was a busy one. Saturday we spent most of the day moving to our new place, which we love and I'll post more on later. Sunday morning we had our traditional breakfast at Nana and Papa's house--pancakes, eggs, sausage, eggs, sweet rolls, deliciousness. We watched the first session there and it was perfect. The kids played well with each other so I actually was able to listen.

We watched most of the afternoon session at my parents' house and then it was off to start a new tradition of Family Home Evening with the Christensen side at my brother's house. We played a General Conference Q & A game. It was a lot of fun and I'm impressed by how well the kids had listened to the talks.

9 months

We finished off the party with a combined birthday party for Meagan (11), Spencer (5), and Kaylee (3). They all were thrilled to be in the spotlight. Kaylee had been talking all day about going to her birthday party and eating cake so she was in heaven.

A cute thing we did for each of the birthday boy and girls. Each person said one thing they liked about them. It was very sweet. Some things said about Kaylee, "I like how you LOVE animals." "I love your sweet smile." "I like your giggle." Such a fun idea that I'd like to continue in our home.

Kaylee was spoiled good and thanks again everyone for the fun presents!

We had such a great time; we can't wait to have our next FHE party.

2 Weeks of Sick

It all started Sunday the 16th. I woke up, showered, and was getting ready for church when all of sudden I felt so sick to my stomach. I lay down in bed for about 15 minutes and then all of the sickness in my stomach wanted to be out of my stomach and out it came...for the remainder of the day. I couldn't keep anything down, not even water. It was horrible. Brennen was awesome and had the kids all day and would bring Allie to me when she needed to be nursed but other than that I didn't do anything but lay in bed and spend some quality time in the bathroom. Monday I felt better but pretty weak, Tuesday I felt pretty nauseous in the morning but by the afternoon I was feeling good. By Wednesday I was feeling great and so happy that nobody else in my family caught the awful stomach/flu bug. Jinx. Wednesday night Allie got the runs and Thursday late afternoon she had a fever in the 100s. Friday morning she still had a fever in the 100s (despite switching from Motrin to Tylenol every 3-4 hours) and decided to take her to the doctor. Poor thing had a yucky sore throat and a red ear. Antibiotics prescribed and I thought that would be the end of it. Jinx again. Saturday morning about 3:30am I wake up to Kaylee screaming and yelling for me. I could tell she was scared from her scream and thought she had a bad dream. She was sitting up in her bed when I got there, I took two steps in her direction and then I could smell it, the vomit, which was all over--in her hair, covered her jammies and all over her bed and blanket. I wake Brennen up to bathe Kaylee while I clean up the mess. I was hoping she ate something bad and she'd feel better but after the bath she threw up again and proceeded to until about 8:00am. Brennen slept out in the front room with her watching movies while I woke up with Allie multiple times through out the night, still fevering in the 100s. Saturday was an okay day considering we missed out on going to the BYU game with my family and Allie still fevering in the 100s but Kaylee was back to her happy self. I thought we may finally be done with this sickness. Jinx yet again. Saturday night Brennen was up all night with the stomach/flu bug. Yuck. Sunday afternoon Allie still fevering but breaks out in a rash. Awesome.

Rash day 2

Kaylee had this once before when she was about 15 months and I assumed Allie had the same thing BUT I took her to the doctor on Monday to make sure it wasn't a reaction to the antibiotics. It wasn't so we continued with the meds and waited out the virus. Monday Kaylee had woken up twice during the night, 3:30am and 7:00am to use the bathroom which is a little unusual for her. When I took her to the bathroom at 7:00am I was so tired I was hoping if she laid in bed with me she'd fall asleep (she normally is up for the day at 7:00am) and I think she fell asleep before I had even finished washing my hands after taking her to the bathroom and then she slept until 10:00am!

Sleeping on our second set of sheets as she had thrown up on them and our comforter a few days prior.

I couldn't believe it and thought she slept so long from her restless night. Not so much. All morning she seemed a bit tired but I thought it was from her sleeping in and so I sent her to play with Cami and Rian while I took Allie to the doctor. I didn't want to risk Kaylee picking up something new from the doctor's office to bring to our house. After Allie and I finished at the doctor I called Cami to see how things were going and she told me Kaylee had a slight fever! Seriously!? Ugh! My mom dropped Kaylee off and all Kaylee wanted was her blanket, a drink, and to take a nap. You could tell she didn't feel great so I let her watch a movie on our bed hoping she'd fall asleep and she did. I had to do some things for the Boys and Girls Club and went since both girls were asleep. About 45 minutes later I get a text that Allie was awake and still fevering but doing fine. About 30 minutes after that I get another text that says Kaylee had woken up and had gone diarrhea all over our bed. Nice. Thankfully Monday night Allie's fever FINALLY broke, her appetite returned, and she finally started sleeping mostly through the night. And by Wednesday her rash was gone. Hallelujah! Kaylee still had the runs for a few days but I'm happy to report we are all healthy. It was a long 2 weeks but I'm happy to have those 2 weeks behind us.

When Allie's temperature was 102.2 we gave her a lukewarm/cooler bath. She absolutely loved it and was all smiles. I had been missing them. She was one sad girl for a few days.

Foam Fest 5K {9.23.11}

My sister-in-law heard about this fun race, The Foam Fest, in North Ogden and asked if Brennen and I wanted to run it with Tyler (she was running with her son Dallin in the Rugrat Race division). It sounded like a blast so we decided why not? I mean, who wouldn't want to run 3 miles through foam, water, and various obstacle courses?! Sounded like a win-win to me. Now, I am in no way a runner. The only thing I like to run is around the bases so I must admit I was a bit nervous to run 3 miles. Luckily I had my best friend Kara who ~~I made run with me~~ happily joined our team, the Chudley Cannons (more info on that later). I'm pretty sure we laughed and talked the entire time. There was a bit more running at the first than I thought but it wasn't too bad and we didn't stop the entire time. The boys were nice enough to slow down their pace for us girls but I don't think we held them up too much. My favorite obstacle was crossing the pond on these interlinked inner-tubes. So fun and totally hilarious. I narrowly avoided falling into the pond head first more than a few times.

The foam ~~tasted terrible~~ was light and fluffy but missing that clean fresh scent I was expecting. All in all it was a successful event and we all plan on running it again next year.

A little background information on our team The Chudley Cannons. Dallin is a big Harry Potter fan so they wanted to do something that related to that.

USU Men's Basketball Team 1970-71. My dad's the handsome fella on the back row, far right.

Utah State University's honored the 1970-71 men's basketball team as their Grand Marshals this year during their Homecoming week. My dad was a manager for the teams during those years so he was able to take part in all the neat festivities, such as dinners, tours, events, etc. He had such a great time.

We, his kids and their families, were able to go to a breakfast Saturday morning where they honored the team. Those teams were pretty amazing and still hold a lot of school records--one of them being scoring an average of 93 points per game. Yeah...that's a lot of points.

After the parade we went to the bookstore and walked around campus before getting some lunch at the Pizza Pie. The fountains were a huge hit.

When my dad talks about his college years he always talks about being a manager for the team and what a bright spot it was for him so it was fun being able to support him this weekend. We had a great weekend dad! Thanks for the fun. You rock!

Peach Days {9.9-10.11}

Oh how I love this time of year--the wonderful "tween" season of Summer and Fall. It's not blazing hot but not yet cold enough for a coat, maybe a jacket during the evening but the absolute perfect temperature in my mind. The "tween" season officially begins at Peach Days. I love it all--the parade, the over-priced rides, the dutch-oven cooking, and especially the booths.

We started our Peach Day festivities on Friday night. My mom treated us and the Jacoways to dutch-oven dinner of ribs, chicken, potatoes, and cobbler. So yummy. Allie gobbled up the potatoes and Kaylee ate her roll and potatoes but was too excited to eat much else.

We heard the best time to go on all of the kid rides was during the kiddie parade. And it was. No lines and because of no lines they let them ride the rides for a really long time. Definitely the most bang for our buck going then.

Kaylee was excited when she saw her good buddy Tate. It has become a Peach Day's tradition for Kaylee and Tate to ride one ride together. First year the carousel, second year the disastrous attempt at the train, but the third year was a success at the motorcycle/car ride.

We love this tradition and its something I know Kaylee looks forward to. I know I do because that means I get to see my best friend Kara. It's always fun catching up with her.

Saturday morning we continued with the Peach Days traditions and went to the parade with the Fullers. We had great seats thanks to my sisters-in-law for camping out on the prime real estate Thursday afternoon.

After the parade we made the rounds at the booths, bought an awesome picture of the Bountiful temple that I can't wait to hang up, then finished the day with the BYU game.

8 months

Kaylee was a blast this year. She loved the parade, wasn't afraid of the loud sirens from the different cars and trucks, and she LOVED the rides. Allie enjoyed herself as well. She was smiles all day.

Future Rockettes {9.2.11}

I signed Kaylee up for Future Rockettes this year with her cousins Rian and Izzie. I thought she would LOVE it because this girl loves to dance. Loves it and let me tell you--she has some killer moves. They may be more "Elaine Benice" than "prima donna" but killer moves nonetheless. Things started out well--she ran right to her group and sat right down in the circle.

That lasted about 5 minutes than she was done with practice. All she wanted to do was run off and pout. I was hoping it was the missed nap that day and hoped practice #2 would go better. It didn't. It was a total disaster and I had made my mind up that I wasn't going back for the last and final practice before the big performance. Then I realized that Kaylee wouldn't get her shirt so I decided to go and try ONE. MORE. TIME. If it was a complete disaster once again than we would go home and miss the performance. Much to my surprise and delight she LOVED the final practice. I think it helped to practice on the football field and there was lots of running involved. They ran on and off the field a lot. She loved it.

Performance day came and all day long she talked about "dancing at the Bees game." She couldn't wait. She loved wearing her "Bees ball shirt" too. She looked super cute and she did such a great job dancing! She ran out onto the field, did her own little dance, and smiled the whole time. I was so proud. Kaylee can be so shy and it takes a lot of courage for her to go out of her comfort shell in front of people. This was such a big step for her. It's fun watching her grow and gain more confidence in herself. While we were sitting watching the other girls dance I had to hold her back from running onto the field to dance again. She had so much fun. We had lots of family there supporting and cheering for her too. She thought it was pretty neat.

Before she performed, I told her we would go get an ice cream if she danced her very best and she did not forget that promise. The first thing she said to me after her dance, "Let's go get an ice cream!" She's too smart and we got an ice cream after the game. She ate every last bite.

Lagoon . . . It's What Fun Is (9.5.11)

My sister Cami found an awesome deal for Lagoon tickets over Labor Day weekend that we couldn't pass up. We were excited about going because Kaylee had so much fun at the county fair. We went on Labor Day and we were all a little worried it would be crowded but much to our delight there was hardly anyone there. We rarely had to wait to ride a ride and the ones we did were "big kid" rides. It was perfect weather--overcast and about 80 degrees. It was so much fun and I can't wait to go back.

We started at the bumper cars. I was a bit nervous to see how Kaylee would react to bumping into her. While I was buckling her in I kept telling her, "People are going to bump into you with their cars but it's okay. It's fun." She loved it! She didn't totally understand turning her steering wheel in a complete circle to get out of a jam but luckily someone would come along and bump into her and knock her free.

Our second stop, and I think Kaylee's favorite ride, the Dragonfly aka kiddie swings. I actually could ride this ride with her and she giggled the entire time. This ride/moment alone made the entire day worth it. As a parent, life doesn't get any better than seeing your kid smile and giggle with pure excitement.

I was so impressed with Kaylee's bravery. She went on anything she could. Bombora, the newest roller coaster at Lagoon, was fast and fun. She went on this a couple of times and enjoyed herself but her face during the ride did not portray fun. She would duck her head into me the whole time. But she wanted to ride it again so I guess she enjoyed it.

The biggest surprise ride--The Tidal Wave. I couldn't believe she wanted to go on that and I was actually a little nervous for her but we sat in the center rows thinking it wouldn't be too bad. Umm, you still go pretty high in the center. She enjoyed it at first but once the ride got going she started screaming, "I don't like it! I don't like it!" As the ride finished she said, "See, not scary."

We brought Allie along and she was a champ! She loved people watching and took a great nap. She got to ride two rides--the Carousel and the train. She thought both were awesome.

She slept like a rock for about 2 hours.

Near the end of the day while the girls, Kaylee and Rian, were playing at the splash pad, Brennen and I went and rode a few rides. I was so excited because last time I was at Lagoon I was pregnant with Kaylee and couldn't ride any. We went on the two I hadn't been on--Wicked and The Spider. The Spider was fun but Wicked was amazing. I was talking with the girl next to us when all of sudden we're shooting out of the building going straight up into the air. It. Was. Incredible! I laughed the entire time and wished we could have gone again but the line was too long.

BE County Fair (8.26.11)

Oh how I love the county fair. We went with my parents and the Jacoways. We decided to stop at Artic Circle on our way there rather than fighting the crowds then it was off to the fair. I love looking at all the 4H entries, especially the photography ones. Totally amazing. Unfortunately Kaylee loves touching all of the 4H entries so we don't last long in that building.

The animals were a hit once again for Kaylee. She thought the chickens were funny, the bunnies were soft, but the baby goat was her favorite. Allie enjoyed it all and fell asleep shortly after looking at the sheep. Maybe she counted too many!? Ha ha ha

We usually don't ride any rides as we save them for Peach Days but after last year's debacle we thought it would be fun to see how she would react and what she thought. Much to our delight she LOVED the rides. Giggles and squeals the entire time. I think it helped having Rian by her side.

Railroader's Festival (8.13.11)

Born and raised in Brigham City and I've NEVER been to the Golden Spike. So when the annual Railroader's Festival came around I knew we had to venture out there. Kaylee loved the trains. They were a little scary when they blew their whistles because it was loud but she thought they were so pretty and big.

Brennen and I enjoyed ourselves as well. Brennen was able to reclaim his cow pie throwing title with an astonishing throw of 160 feet.

I tried the cow pie throw as well but I wasn't nearly as successful. Next year maybe. I just need to get the correct mechanics down.

Kaylee and I enjoyed the egg relay. We were so close to the finish line when our egg fell off the spoon and broke. Total bummer.

Brennen and Brian rode the hand rail carts and Kaylee, myself, Cami, and Rian were going to ride the speed car but it broke down.

We watched the golden spike reenactment which was very interesting and Kaylee actually sat so well throughout the 30 minute presentation.

There were 4 special spikes driven to connect the railway.
2 Gold, 1 Silver, and a Gold/Silver.

Allie did great as well. She loved watching everyone and only jumped once to the sound of the trains' whistles.

We had such a fun time, I'm sure we will visit again.

Night Out Against Crime (8.2.11)

Brigham City had a 'Night Out Against Crime.' There were a lot of fun things to see and do and of course lots of fun free stuff. Kaylee's favorite thing to do was climbing inside all of the trucks--fire trucks, ambulance, and swat car. All very cool.

The following Monday after we returned from Oregon Kaylee started swimming lessons. She did really great in the Mom & Tots class but it had been a couple of weeks and this time her lessons were with her own teacher. She likes swimming but hates getting her face wet or blowing bubbles and gets a little nervous so we decided to go swimming the weekend before lessons started to help work out some of her nerves and fear. She did pretty well but she still hated blowing bubbles. We all enjoyed ourselves and I think Allie will be a little fish next year. She LOVED it and didn't stop splashing the entire time.

Driving to the Oregon coast takes a LONG time. Add two kids in the mix and you may as well double the time. Needless to say we broke our trip into a couple of stops. On the way to and from we spent the night in Boise, ID. We met up with my college softball coach, went to the mall and let the kids play,

and of course we went swimming.

Fuller Family Reunion--Oregon Coast (7.26 -- 7.28.11)

The Fuller family had a reunion this year in Waldport, OR. We had a great time and after last year's experience with "Oregon's summer weather" I was much better prepared. We stayed in this amazing beach house:

Can you believe we fit 30 adults/kids and 2 babies in there? We did and easily. It had its own private access to the beach which was perfect.

My friend Michele saved us perfect seats to watch Angel Moroni be placed on top of the Brigham City temple. There was a huge turnout. Angel Moroni was supposed to go up at 10:00. Well we waited. And waited. And waited but the bipolar Utah weather prevented that. We braved the rain for about 1.5 to 2 hours than Allie and Kaylee were done so we packed up and went home for lunch.

Christensen Reunion--Pool Day (6.25.11)

Who doesn't love a pool day during the hot summer? Saturday afternoon we ventured to Roy City's Outdoor Pool. I've heard a lot of good things about the pool so I was excited to go. It. Was. Packed. We all had fun. Allie loved the shallow water where she was able to splash and Kaylee loved the frog slide where she could go down by herself but I think her most favorite was going down the big slide with Brennen.

Bees Game & 7 Years (7.22.11)

To celebrate our 7 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY we went to a Bees Game. We had amazing tickets--front row, 1st baseline, perfection. Just check out our view:

We left Kaylee home but brought Allie along. She loved the atmosphere, was super happy as per usual, and everyone oogled and googled at her. Who wouldn't though?

Have I mentioned that she drools A LOT. And don't mind our drunk neighbors in the background. They were nice.

The game itself was a blast, unfortunately not for the Bees. They made a run at the end but couldn't finish it off. We loved the night out and going on a date. An actual date lasting longer than 1-2 hours.

It's been a fabulous 7 years. I still like him. He still likes me. We're kind of perfect for each other and oddly similar in both our likes and dislikes. He's a hard-worker, wonderful father & husband, and he makes me laugh. He's pretty awesome, a complete jokester, and my BFF.

We had planned a fun barbecue but a little microburst summer storm moved all of us inside. Fireworks . . . Sort Of (7.4.11)

We were hoping that this year Kaylee would enjoy fireworks. (If you can't recall CLICK HERE, Kaylee absolutely HATED fireworks last year. There was much weeping and wailing.) Much to our dismay she hated them once again. On Saturday, July 2, we went to the Logan fireworks. We were sitting in a field quite a ways from the fireworks so we figured the noise wouldn't be that bad. The noise wasn't bad at all but apparently it was loud enough for Kaylee. After the first "boom" she began to scream and cry saying "Go to bed! I wanna go home! Go to bed!" Brennen took her to the corner of the street so we wouldn't disturb everyone else there while Allie and I enjoyed the show. When the show was over Kaylee told everyone how fun the fireworks were. Go figure. Brennen said she clung to him and got so hot and sweaty. Poor thing was seriously stressed out the whole time. To avoid that situation all over again, we opted out of Brigham City's fireworks, sort of. We met up with the Fuller families down at the park and hung out, watched the baseball game, and played on the playground for a couple of hours. When the sun was beginning to set I left with the girls and put them to bed while Brennen stayed with everyone else. When the fireworks began I sat out on the driveway with my parents and watched. It was kind of nice not dealing with the crowds and had two sleeping kids. Hopefully NEXT year will be better. Fingers crossed.

The 4th of July breakfast has become quite the anticipated tradition at our house. We invite all of my cousins and their families over and have a big get together. The kids love getting together and the adults love catching up with those we don't get to see as often as we would like.

My friend Michele and her kids joined us. We were so glad she came.

The spread was super delicious and I wish I would have taken a picture. We made super yummy red, white, and blue Honeyville Grain pancakes. Only the best pancakes...ever! The kids loved them.

The last night of our reunion Callie and Brian had put together a great family game, "The Doozy Game." It was a doozy to say the least. It was like Trivial Pursuit but the questions were about our family, scriptures, Harry Potter, game challenges, etc. Our team, Team Awesome, did pretty well, had a few setbacks, but we really enjoyed ourselves.

Christensen Reunion--Park Day (6.24.11)

It was time for the Christensen Family Reunion. This year the Daniels family were in charge and they did such a fabulous job! We stayed at this amazing house in Mt. Green, Utah. It was huge, spacious and it was really nice being away from home but not too far from home so travel time didn't cut into fun time. I'd definitely like to go back there again. The theme was, "All About Family." They planned some great activities and we learned a lot about our family along the way. She interviewed our grandparents and made a movie for us to watch. We had a Q&A panel with Mom & Dad, which was hilarious. And last but not least, we played "The Doozy Game," but I'll talk more about the Doozy game later.

Our first day was a day at the park. The Daniels had brought a lot of fun games.

My Best Friend's Wedding (6.16.11)

My best and very first friend, Brooke, got married. I wish I would have taken more pictures than these few because she looked gorgeous and it was a fabulous day. Her husband, Adam, seemed like her perfect prince charming. Definitely a "Happily Ever After" ending. Deservingly so. She's pretty amazing.

A few days after the Jacoways arrived we had a swim party with all of the kids. It was a nice hot day so the cool water felt nice and the kids had a great time. So great in fact that we only took a handful of pictures.
