Trev Dawg's 60! {2.6.12}
Even though we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday party on Saturday we couldn't ignore his ACTUAL birthday. So in true Harry Potter fashion we had butter beer cake made by Cami. It was HEAVENLY!

My Dad turned the big 6-0 on February 6th. My siblings and I started planning the surprise party clear back in October of 2011. It went off like a hitch and we surprised him good. We invited his family and friends, ate yummy food, played a Q&A game, and watched a video/photo slideshow about my Dad. I think he had a great time and got all emotional at the end.

My in-laws scheduled their church gym to use for the party but we were stumped for quite awhile as how to get him there without being suspicious. We went with--My mom planned a birthday date, movie and then dinner to follow, when she suddenly remembers she needs to drop off some Honeyville Farms product at Marilyn's (my mother-in-law) Relief Society activity which was being held at the church. Brennen and I were already there helping Marilyn out so I was waiting for my parents to drop the stuff off. My mom, being so smart, made sure she brought heavy enough product that my Dad had to help carry things. Genius. My parents arrive and my mom has her box of goods and my Dad has his huge bag of rice when I direct him to the gym. I open the door and SURPRISE! He was completely stunned and it took quite a few seconds for him to realize that the surprise was for him and he knew the people in the gym! It was perfect.

My favorite teacher in high school was Rod Tueller. He was also my basketball coach, so I already had a lot of respect and admiration for him. He taught American Problems. My toughest class and most dreaded was Geometry. It was taught by another coach and his name was Roger Wilson. We didn’t get along very well and that didn’t help me in the class or on the court! I was a pretty good student. Mostly A’s in all my classes, but I am sure my algebra and geometry classes averaged a B- or a C+. But you need to know my checking accounts are reconciled and balanced correctly every month!!!!:)

My Dad's brothers are pretty hilarious and you can always count on a good joke to two from them. That being said, their present from my Dad did not disappoint. Walker, jump suit, loafers, beanie, prune juice, a bed pan, and a few other things best left unsaid. ;)

Brian Regan {1.21.12}
Most of my family was able to go to Brian Regan (the others were attending to adorable newborns or the victim of a tonsillectomy). It had been great weather all week and then Saturday rolls around and it decides to snow...and a lot! Thankfully the Matthews saved the day in their nice big car and drove all of us down to SLC to catch the show. We may have cut it close getting there but it was less time sitting in anticipation waiting for the show to start. ;)
I liked his opening act, can't remember his name now, but I thought he was pretty hilarious. Brian Regan of course was hilarious and had us all gasping for air. It wasn't my favorite set of his but still hilarious.
